Java skins live in the launcher. Bedrock skins do not.

On Java Edition, the Skins tab is a local library: default models, uploads, wide vs slim arms. You must own Java Edition for the full library. Bedrock cosmetics stay in-game and in Marketplace.

Minecraft character artwork representing skins and appearance customization

Default Java models include Steve, Alex, Noor, Sunny, Ari, Zuri, Makena, Kai, and Efe. You can duplicate defaults. You cannot delete them. Custom skins are PNG uploads; classic size is 64×64, HD skins use larger multiples the game accepts.

Cape cosmetics follow Java account/store rules, not this PNG slot. If a skin never appears in-game, you launched Bedrock, a stale installation, or an offline session that has not refreshed the session servers.
