Quick Play is a shortcut bar, not a new Minecraft.

After you leave a world, Realm, or server, a tile appears on the Java or Bedrock Play tab. One click skips the title screen and the world list. It is on by default.

Requirements that actually matter

  • Java Edition 1.20 or later for Java tiles.
  • Bedrock Edition 1.20.60 or later for Bedrock tiles.
  • You must have launched that world after those versions. Older saves do not backfill.
  • Tiles are stored locally with the launcher. They are not a cloud recents list.

Turn it off

Settings → Quick Play → uncheck. You can also clear saved entries there if a deleted world still shows a ghost tile.
