macOS gets Java Edition. It does not get official Bedrock.

Download the macOS build from minecraft.net, drag it to Applications, sign in, play Java. If the icon bounces and dies, Gatekeeper or a half-downloaded runtime is more likely than “Macs cannot run Minecraft.”

  1. Download the macOS launcher from minecraft.net/en-us/download.
  2. Open the .dmg, drag to Applications, launch once.
  3. If macOS blocks it, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway for this app only — not a random .jar from a mirror.
  4. Apple Silicon Macs run the current official launcher; if a store page still talks only about Intel, ignore the outdated mirror.

Game files: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft. Runtime errors still happen when an installation points at a Homebrew Java you later uninstalled. Clear the custom Java field first.
